Chapter 3

The day after we go married, we moved into a "waiting house" while we were waiting for our new home to be buildt. It was late when I heard barking outside, I naturally went down the stairs and to the yard where I found the cutest little female great dane puppy with a ribbon on her head.

I carried my new found puppy into the living room where Prince was sitting there with a huge smile on his face.

"Do you like her, babe? I bought her from Thousand Flower Kennels, and I'm still wating for her SKC registeration." His eyes looked over me, carefully."

"You got me a puppy?" I was stunned, I hadn't got any presents since I was toddler and I don't even remember those.

"Yes, my love, but not only a puppy there is two horses being delivered tomorrow."

I held the puppy close, ny husband had bought me a puppy and horses. I couldn't believe it.

I set the puppy on the ground and wrapped my arms around Prince.

"Baby, I can't believe you did this."

He kissed my lips before speaking in his sexy low hushed tone.

"I will do anything for you, darling."

More kisses, lead to us going up into the bedroom if you know what I mean.

The next morning I spent time taking care of the female horse, Darling. I even got primsson from Prince to be late for my fitting to take her for a ride around town.

I was forced to run to the fitting, where I was then fitted for three outfits for everything I'd ever need.

Prince was then rushed to a meeting, I headed home to start dinner as it was to be promtely served when he arrived.

Even though we were the richest family in Twinbrook, and we owned almost everything I was still still the one who had to do all the cooking and cleaning. I felt like a alien in the clothes they had picked out for me, I had to look formal as the wife of a prince.

Prince came home after a long day of practing his riding skills for some thing he was doing in the rown. He came up to bed, just as I was getting it. He looked deep in my eyes. and we started kissing.

The morning of our first party was normal, I ate my waffles while Prince played with Daisy.

I spent the majority of the day, bent over throwing up.

Daisy was leaving lots of little surpises for us, when we got home I decided to take a pregancy test.

It was postive, we were having a baby!

I played with Daisy while I was waiting on Prince to come home. As he walked through the back door, I rushed up to him.

"Honey guess what?"

"What is it my darling?"

"We're having a baby!"

"What?"



Chapter 2

I was forced to stay in the basement for three hours, mother let me out and told me that we needed some food from the store. She handed me a list, and told me to be back by four. This was my chance in the wee hours of the morning, I ran towards town. I stopped with the money I had been given for food and bought some young adult clothes for myself before I ran towards the Prince's houe.

He had the door open, when I arrived and quickly rushed me inside. I couldn't believe it, I had made it.

The first thing he did was take me in his arms.

"Oh beautiful sweet Esme, I'll never let them hurt you again."

I pulled back and I looked into his beautiful eyes, and he looked back.

The look I saw in his eyes, was the look I saw in the eyes of all my mother's husbands. It was the look of love.

"I have to tell you something, Esme."

"Tell me then,"

Everything stopped, and I watched his face.

"I've been in love with you, since the day I met you. I know that sounds wrong and I know there is a few years age difference but I love you.."

"I love you." Honestly, I think I did. I'm in love with the Prince of Twinbrook.

"Oh Esme, my darling. Go wait in the drawing room while I go and fetch something."

The drawing room? I had no idea, what that was or looked like. I wondered around the bottem floor of the estate and still couldn't find anything that I would consider a drawing room.

"There you are my darling." His voice was so beautiful, it made my knees weak.

He gave me, a quick shy peck on the lips.

There was a reaction when he did, like my soul just went oh there you are I've been looking for you. That kind of reaction, when I opened my eyes he was on on knee in front of me.

"Esme, my darling, I told you not to read the papers today, and I may look like a fool if your answer isn't what I hope it will be. But thats what love is right? You do stupid things, and you may look like a fool in the end."

Before I could say  word, he pulled out and opened a small box.

"This ring has been passed down for generations in my family, from each mother to her son. I offer this ring to you, with the promise to make your life the best you could ever imagine. Will you wed me tonight or shall I stand and look like a fool to the town? I will wait forever if I have to."

"Yes, I will marry you!"

"Come with me, we only have two hours and we need to find you a dress."

The dress we found for me, was grand. People pointed at me, whispering "Isn't that the Starling's maid?" I didn't mind, I was marrying the most wonderful man in the world.

"With this ring, I take thee Esme Emily Starling, as my lawfully wedded wife. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health. For better or worse till do we part. I promise to give you everything you could ever imagine my love."

"With this ring, I take thee Prince Micheal Charming, as my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health. For better or worse, till death do we part. You are my knight in shining armor I promise to do everything I can to make you the happiest man in the world."

That night for the first time, I fell asleep next to the man I love. Exicted for the morning to come, and wondering what the future will bring. But for once, not wondering what it would be like to be happy.



Chapter 1

The day my sisters aged up into adults, mother took pictures of them and told me to take them over to Prince Charming's house so that he could decided whether or not to invite them to his beach party where he would be looking at all the single ladies of age for his bride.

The run to Prince Charming's Estate was two hours long and I was very tired when I arrived at his door. I rang the bell, and took a new breath.

The door opened and the most beautiful man, I had ever seen stood before my eyes.

"You must be the Starling's Maid, I was told you would be here a hour ago. Please come inside." His voice was deep and manly. I could feel my heart flutter, and butterflies danced in my tummy.

"Yes, sir. I'm sorry I'm late."

"Do you have the pictures?"

" Yes. sir." I handed him the white folder with Cindy and Ellen Starling written in my mother's beautiful handwriting.

"Thank you, you know you look a little to young to be a maid... How old are you?"

Fear crept into my eyes, I wasn't allowed to talk about myself and if anyone ever found out what was happening I'd be forced into the basement for the rest of my life.

"I'm sorry, sir but I have to go."

"Please just tell me how old you are. I want to help yo-"

I ran out the door, and as fast as I could down the streets to my house. I'd already be in trouble for being late. Hopefully Prince wouldn't call my mother. Please don't call my mother.

I can't go into the basement.

When I arrived home, no one was there I did everything I could to make the house shine anymore before I went into my attic room to sleep. I did everything, even made dinner and put it the fridge just in case they didn't eat while they were out.

The next morning while I was cleaning the laundry room, a strange new woman came up to me and introduced herself as Hanna the new live in house keeper.

"Your mother asked me to tell you that school begins at nine a.m and the bus will be here in a hour to get you. Look presentable. You are going for today to earn your GED and then you are to come straight home."

With that she walked out of the room, my birthday was tomorrow and she's hired a new housekeeper? Someone to share the work with so I won't leave? Will she be kicking me out?

I stood there wondering, and thats when I heard the horn honk outside the front of the house I took off running and made it just in time.

I felt odd as I stood outside the school building for the first time, I felt so out of place. I didn't belong here, I was nothing. Nothing special, I should be at home making lunch and helping Ellen and Cindy prepare for the Prince's party tonight.

As I walked in and followed Mrs. Parker to the room, wheere I'll be taking my tests I started to think of the Prince. His eyes were beautiful blue and his black hair made them glow. He was handsome and perfect. He had wanted to help me. He had cared.

The test took five hours, and I arrived home a few mintutes after everyone had left. I creeped up to my room pulled on the dress I wore when we threw formal parties and headed to the beach to "Crash" the Prince's party for lack of better words.

I stood on the hill overlooking the beach, watched all the women swoon over Prince. Watched as my sister's cried on my mother after they were rejected and I headed down the hill as soon as they were out of sight.

"You there, your the Starling's maid. You ran out so fast the other day, with that look of fear on your face. I hope you don't mind, but I did some snooping.. Esme, I'm so sorry that all this has happened to you."

"You know?"

"I know."

Tears started to fall from my eyes, I quickly wiped them away.

"Please don't say anything, you have no idea what they will do to me."

"I won't but I want to help you... When's your birthday?"

"Tomorrow."

"Can you get away?"

"I can try."

"If you can come to my house, I have a idea... and Don't read the papers."

"Why shouldn't I read the pape-"

"Just do as I say sweet Esme."

"Go now, curfew is in a hour.. I can only imagine what will happen if your arrested."

No one was home, when I got there. I laid on Cindy's bed and closed my eyes as dreams of a wonderful normal life filled my head.

I awoke to my mother standing above me, I quickly got out the bed. One look out the window said it was still in the early evening.

"You ungrateful little witch, I've been out looking for you and I hear from Jorge you were at the Prince's party chating him up up? After everything I've done for you? I let you live here, I've kept you like I promised your father on his death bed and you betray me?"

"I'm sorry Mo-"

"Don't call me your mother, you are not my child. I don't claim you."

"Go to the Basement Esme."

"Yes, Mrs. Starling."

Prologue

Its rare that I find the time to read, I'm seventeen years old I don't attend school and I am forced to be the maid, Chef and butler to my mother and sisters. My father died years ago, when I was just a tot. I look a lot like him for what I can remember of the pictures we use to have. I'm the youngest of the children Rob and Glenda Starling had together. Cindy and Ellen are twins, looking just like our mother they get everything they want.

The three of them, are thicker than theives. They all hate me, and its just as well because I hate them to. I have no deep down affection for them, all they've down is used me and treated me like nothing. I've been doing everything for them since the time I could walk.

Mother use to watch me, to make sure I did everything to her high expections. When I was younger nothing I did ever fit, for punishment I was/am locked in the basment.

She still watches me from time to time, when she isn't out looking for husband number #4. Mother is a bit of a black widow. All four of her husbands have died from suspicous accidents, and she gets all their money. They are one of the richest familys in Twinbrook, and I am just their live in maid.

Mother knows that I am afarid of the dark, one of the negative things about being cowardly I suppose. She knows I'm afarid thats why she sends me out at night to do the shopping. Never am I looked to take one of our cars. No, she has a paid taxi driver that takes me to and from the store to make sure I come home.

I wonder what will happen when I turn into a young adult? I'll have to find the chance to run I suppose. But run to what?
